The Baby Steps Baby Pantry Diaper Giveaway
Baby Steps Baby Pantry is helping families get the supplies they need.
Diapers are one of the most expensive items that caregivers need to purchase for growing kids. These essentials are not only expensive, but they’re also a frequently recurring purchase that can seriously add up over time.
Furthermore, both the pandemic and recent inflation have led diaper prices to rise, and with them, the number of families who desperately need more of them has risen too.
For families who reside in Sullivan and Orange counties, they’re getting a little extra help with this necessity, and a whole lot of hope as well.
On August 19th, Baby Steps Baby Pantry held a diaper pop-up in Monticello with the Federated Food Pantry. Families who visited were able to pick up a week’s supply of diapers and wipes: all for free.
Baby Steps Baby Pantry is a nonprofit organization that has been doing these big gestures of kindness for families in need for the past seven years. This pop-up in particular was hosted outside of the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless. It was the generous grant from the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan County that has helped boost this nonprofit’s efforts– now we are able to purchase more diapers and set up giveaways all across these counties.
Unfortunately, baby formula is another resource that many families don’t have enough of. Luckily, organizations in Dutchess County and Ulster County have made efforts to collect pantries of this supply for those in need.
We host a monthly diaper pop-up in Newburgh, and they are always grateful for more volunteers. If your community organization wants to team up with this nonprofit, check out our website!
